RCA New Orthophonic Test Record

This picture shows the Buchmann-Meyer light pattern of velocity intensity (indicated by the width of the light reflection that resembles the trunk of the Christmas tree pattern) as reflected by a copy of the RCA New Orthophonic test record. The signal sweep recorded has been pre-emphasized with the RCA equalization standard allowing one to measure for flat response from the output of an RIAA de-emphasizing gramophone preamp.
