The Seventies were hard to beat for recording technology and musical creativity. Peregrinations, released in 1975 by jazz drummer, Chico Hamilton, was a particularly inspired album, . The February 1975 edition of Recording Magazine has a neat interview with both Jay McKnight, of MRL calibration tapes, and Robert K. Morrison, of STL calibration tapes. (Mr. Morrison used to cut 33+1/3 RPM soundtracks at Picto-Sound on a bank of Universal lathes. Please see Cypher's post on such an one in our Vintage forum.)
